FOUR STROKES - IMPORTANT NOTE

For those of you that have made the choice to ride a Fourstroke for the forthcoming season please can I make you aware that the BSMA noise limit for 2007 is 94 Decibels. The International governing body (FIM) and the UK primary affiliation (ACU) will not be enforcing their 94 Decibel limit until 2008 but have brought the required fourstroke limit down to 96 Decibels but only for the next year.

I believe that the BSMA in this instance has taken the correct stand point by going the extra 2 decibel decrease a year early as we are losing circuits now, and you will not need to purchase another tailpipe in 2008.

Please note that all CRF 150 riders will be required to replace their standard production tailpipe with aftermarket pipe that meets the 94db limit. Recent testing has seen that out of the crate these new machines are running at 99db and at 104db after one hours use. These machines are a great introduction to our youth ranks but have doubled our already turbulent noise problems.

To all of our 250 four stroke riders that have purchased a new 2007 machine. You will be required to replace your standard production tailpipe with an aftermarket tailpipe that meets the 94db limit unless you have manufacturer, documented evidence that states, your machine meets the new standard.

To all of our remaining fourstroke riders on machines that have been manufactured from 2001 to 2006. You will be required to replace your standard production tailpipe with an aftermarket tailpipe that meets the 94db limit as none of these machine, running standard tailpipes meet the new noise limit.

I have been able to negotiate a deal with the help of Dirtbikebitz, that gives you, as a club member a great offer on a selection of tailpipes that meet the required 94db limit. This deal has been kindly offered to PMXC club members only and will give you a great saving on what is an expensive, but necessary piece of equipment. Dirtbikebitz understand the huge problem our sport has with noise at the moment and the closure of circuits by those that do not consider that our sport offers a wider message than getting muddy on a Sunday and that our club riders our dedicated, committed and focused individuals that operate under a strict ruling system that doesn't mean they are clogging up the walkways of the local convenience store.

If any rider wishes to keep their current tailpipe, whether it is the production tailpipe that came with the bike or an aftermarket tailpipe other than those listed on the Dirtbikebitz offer sheet, you will be tested and sent home if your machine does not meet the new required noise limit, which is highly likely.

What the club is trying to do by setting up the enclosed offer is to make it easier for our scrutineers in the morning and not to lose any race time throughout the day because we have spent an hour testing bikes for noise which could be a possibility.

You will not receive an offer like this anywhere else and is only available to licensed club members . Before ordering any of the listed tailpipes, you will need your temporary licence number as this will be required to verify your purchase.

ADDITIONALLY: FOURSTROKE Noise Reducing Tailpipe Inserts

Dear Club
We are aware of you current noise limit and would like to make you aware of the following noise reducing product that has been sanctioned by the BSMA as an accepted alternative to 94 decibel specific aftermarket tailpipes.

The following inserts are outlet (Silencer hole) specific and are designed to fit into the any production tailpipe with the following dimensions, 1.31" to 1.50", 1.50" to 1.75", 1.75" to 2.00" and will reduce your standard silencer by at least 6db and in some cases upto 10db with no noticeable power loss.

The following price structure is only available to BSMA licensed members:
8001 Fits pipes of 1.3" - 1.5" / List Price £34.95 - BEMA Price £29.75
8002 Fits pipes of 1.5" - 1.75" / List Price £34.95 - BSMA Price £29.75
8003 Fits pipes of 1.75" - 2.0" / List Price £34.95 - BSMA Price £29.75
8010 Fits CRF250 Twin Pipe Models 06/07 / List Price £39.95 - BSMA Price £32.95

For you to claim this discount you need to log onto the db dawg website and enter "BSMA Offer" along with inputting your licence number in the special offer code section of the web store check out or telephone 01689-842125 quoting the details as above. You will be able to claim your discount using this procedure but it is limited to one per licence number submitted.

These inserts are a great cost effective alternative to the more substantial replacement tailpipe and will be passed at scrutineering the same as any specified tailpipe or tailpipe with 94db documentation and will be a huge help in our fight against noise and circuit loss.

With both the tailpipe offer at DirtBikeBitz and the Dbdawg insert offer now organised by the BSMA  there is no excuse for your fourstroke not to be running at the 94db limit as required in the rule book. If you are in any doubt about any of the above please contact dbdawg direct or if you would prefer to go down the Tailpipe route either contact DirtBikeBitz or your local dealer who I am sure would be willing to advise and help out with a price and noise conscious solution to your specific requirements,
